Thailand Privilege Visa Gold Membership

US Citizens

If you’re looking for a way to stay in Thailand long-term with some added perks, then the Thailand Elite Visa for US Citizens is a prime choice. This visa is available via the Thailand Privilege program, which offers 4 distinct tiers of membership: Gold, Platinum, Diamond, and Reserve. Created by Thailand Privilege Card Co., Ltd., a division of the Thai government’s Ministry of Tourism and Sports, this Elite tourist visa package is the easiest and most rewarding way for a long-term stay in the Kingdom.

The 5-Year Thailand Privilege Gold Membership is ideal if you don’t want too long of a commitment or you don’t have any dependents to bring to Thailand. Not only does it provide you with an easy-to-acquire Thai Elite Visa, but also a wealth of exclusive perks and benefits at a lower price point than the other tiers.

Thailand Privilege Gold Membership Overview

  • Membership cost: One-time payment of 900,000 THB (approximately $24,700) with no annual fees
  • Membership period: 5 years
  • Privilege points: 20 annual points

Benefits of the Gold Membership for US Citizens

Acquiring a Thailand Elite Visa as part of the Gold Membership package is far easier for US citizens than meeting the stringent requirements for other long-term visas in Thailand. Coupled with this convenience is a selection of unique VIP-level benefits that can be customized to fit your needs and lifestyle.

Easy immigration processes

One of the best parts of the Gold Membership package is how it expedites immigration procedures. If you are frequently flying into Thailand from the US and vice versa, these perks will ensure your time is respected and you can feel at home in the Land of Smiles.

  • 5-year multiple-entry visa
  • No cap on how many times you’re allowed to enter and exit Thailand
  • Permission to use the premium lane at airports, giving you access to fast-tracked VIP services upon arrival
  • Complimentary introduction by an Elite Personal Assistant (EPA) who will welcome you on arrival into Thailand and escort you to the premium lane

Streamlined application journey

Unlike most Thai visa applications, applying for a Thailand Elite Visa is more simplified and straightforward. There are less strenuous requirements to meet and fewer obstacles to overcome.

  • The application is shorter in comparison to other visa applications, lasting between 1 to 3 months on average.
  • There are no age, financial, income, education, employment, or health insurance requirements that you need to fulfill.
  • The application can be completed anywhere, either in Thailand or wherever there is a Thai embassy.

The option to upgrade

If after your first taste of Thailand Privilege, you feel as if 5 years simply isn’t enough, you have the right to easily upgrade your current membership to the next level. Upgrading a membership requires paying the fixed upgrade fee of 100,000 THB (approximately $2,732) along with the additional membership fee which is calculated as the difference between your current membership and the one you’re looking to upgrade to.

For Gold members:
  • From Gold to Platinum: 600,000 THB (approximately $16,350)
  • From Gold to Diamond: 1,600,000 THB (approximately $43,650)
  • From Gold to Reserve: 4,100,000 THB (approximately $111,850)

A massive selection of privileges

There are a vast number of perks that you gain access to along with your Thailand Elite Visa. Some are flat discounts and benefits that are “always on” while others require you to spend privilege points to redeem. The perks include but are not limited to:

Applying for a Thailand Elite Visa as a US Citizen

Before you apply for a Thai Elite Visa, it's always worth it to consult a General Sales and Services Agent (GSSA). Assigned by the Thai government, GSSAs play an important role by supporting you in your application process. They ensure you can secure your Thai Elite Visa while avoiding any problems that might spring up. Even better, GSSAs offer their services for free.

Acquiring a Thailand Elite Visa requires proceeding through the following steps:

  1. The very first step is to gather all the required documents and check the eligibility requirements list to see if you meet them. When you’re ready, send all your documents to the General Sales and Services Agent (GSSA).
  2. The GSSA will carefully review all the documents you’ve sent over and liaise with you if anything is missing or inaccurate. You will also have to complete the Membership Application Fee Payment Form and pay the application fee.
  3. If everything’s in order, they will submit your application to Thailand Privilege via their online application portal.
  4. A Thai immigration officer will be assigned to work on performing your background check. This procedure takes an estimated 4 to 6 weeks to complete.
  5. If you are successful in your background assessment, you will receive an approval letter and payment instructions from Thailand Privilege.
  6. Follow the payment instructions to pay your membership fee to Thailand Privilege. You will have 30 days to complete this step.
  7. Wait between 5 to 10 days for the payment to be fully processed and for you to receive a welcome letter and membership ID.
  8. Book a reservation with the member contact center to affix your new Thai Elite Visa to your passport. You can affix it at these 3 locations:
    • Royal Thai Consulate or Thai Embassy in the US (if applying in the United States)
    • Suvarnabhumi Airport or Phuket International Airport (if flying into the country)
    • Thai Immigration Bureau at Chaengwattana (if applying inside Thailand)

Once your 5-year Thai Elite Visa is affixed to your passport, you will be able to fly into and out of Thailand without the need for a re-entry permit.
